The Inside Story - Your emotions are your guidance system


Your emotions are your guidance system. Learn to trust them more and listen to them! There are only two kinds of experiences- ones that make you feel GOOD and ones that make you feel BAD. We humans call them by many different names; joy, hope, excitement, happiness, love….anxiety, despair, sadness, doubt, anger- but these are only examples of the two states: POSITIVE and NEGATIVE.

If an experience makes you FEEL truly good, do more of it! If an experience makes you feel NEGATIVE it is a guidance from inner being that something you are involved in needs closer attention and observation and is not in alignment with what you really want for yourself. It is a sign that something needs to change in your life. Don’t overcomplicate things….it is that simple! Become an observer of your life- not a critic. See every experience as an opportunity for expansion.

Make some changes. Live in what feels good….live inJOY!

You become what you surround yourself with


We all hear or talk about ‘energy’. Scientists and metaphysicists are constantly talking about quantum energy, spiritualists about spiritual energy, healers about positive healing energy and religious leaders about the positive power of prayer energy. What is all this energy talk?

Well, in summary, the entire universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Everything in and around you, animate and inanimate is energy vibrating. Different vibrations represent various states of being like solid, liquid, gas or different colours. Our human bodies vibrate at different frequencies of energy, depending on whether we are in a positive or negative state, a state of ease or dis-ease. A healthy body has a high vibrational energy, a dis-eased one, a low vibrational energy. Emotions are energy too! Positive emotions like; happiness, joy, hope, fun, excitement have a high vibration, while negative emotions like; sadness, depression, anxiety, hopelessness have a low vibration.

There is a constant transfer or exchange of energy between ourselves and people and things that we come into contact with. These affect our energy vibration without exception.

Quick Self checklist
Sometimes I suddenly get that exhausted, drained feeling
- My moods bounce around a lot
- I sometimes feel spacey, ‘scrambled’ in my head
- Sometimes I’m in a really good mood and suddenly after going somewhere or talking to someone I feel a bit down or ‘not so happy’ anymore.
- I get these dull, shut down feelings in my head

If you answered yes to one or more of the above, you could benefit from becoming more aware of things in your environment that sabotage or lower your energy vibration.

If an experience makes you FEEL truly positive, do more of it! If an experience makes you feel NEGATIVE it is a sign that something needs to change. It is a guidance that something you are involved in is ultimately not POSITIVE for you or that it will lower your energy vibration. It is an opportunity to ‘get back on track’!

A good place to start is to BECOME AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. WHAT YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH AFFECTS YOU- ALL THE TIME, EVERY TIME!

Many people overlook this ‘easy to use’ exercise since they either don’t realise the effects that the environment has on them or because they forget that they have free choice to make changes to their environment to a large degree.

What you have around you influences your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual state of being.

Ask yourself: What do I have around me that makes me feel GOOD? And what makes me feel BAD?

Examples of things that DECREASE your vibration:
Negative people; Artificial light and air; News (TV, print and radio); Too much work, not enough fun and rest; Bland spaces; Environments that feel like “dead or bad energy”; Shopping centres; Chemicals; Electromagnetic fields (electrical wiring, cell phones, portable phones, computers); Stress; Remedy: The aim is to limit these and increase the POSITIVE list below in your daily life.

Examples of things that INCREASE your vibration:
Positive people; Putting things that you find attractive around you at work and at home; Love; Fresh air; Jokes; Comedies; Nature (plants, large bodies of water especially the sea); Natural light; Salt baths; Lying on the ground; Walking barefoot on the earth; Good news; Healthy food; Eating food you enjoy as a treat; Meditation; Massage therapy; Rest; Doing acts of kindness for others and yourself; Surrounding yourself with colours that make you feel good; Hobbies; Exercise.

Affirmation: I am aware of my surroundings and I make changes to have it energise me and keep me in a positive state. I surround myself with things and people that bring me joy.

We all have a wounded child inside…but we all survived childhood….so become your own therapist- heal it and live inJOY! (Part 3)


The next part of healing the inner child is to ask your inner child, your little you, what would make it feel better. Sometimes he/she will give childlike wants and sometimes ‘older’ wants in a child voice- either are good!

Just a few examples of childlike wants: your favourite chocolate or food type, a new computer game, painting, drawing, a craft, dancing freely to music at home, a nap.

Examples of ‘older’ wants: A pottery class, a new book, art lessons, a cell phone accessory, a bubble bath with candles, a massage, a cappuccino etc. etc.

The examples are endless since each person will desire something specific. If for some reason the inner child becomes too demanding or irrational, for example: “I want 5 McFlurrys from McDonalds” or “I want to go home from work NOW” negotiate with the child as a loving, responsible parent would for their own child. Think of how you would have wanted to be treated when you WERE a child.

You might say “We can’t have 5 McFlurrys, but we can have 2 with flakes and we can park the car and go inside and eat them there”. Or, “We can’t go home now, but we can at 4:30, earlier than usual…and when we do..what should we get on the way home?”.

Let your adult part TALK TALK TALK to your little you…it has wanted to be heard and acknowledged FOR YEARS and YEARS and YEARS.

For many people this may be the first time they (their child part) has actually received something FOR NOT DOING ANYTHING….FOR JUST BEING….not for being good or quiet or getting good marks or for helping or tidying up or finishing all the vegetables or for being able to understand quantum physics by Grade 1 …NOTHING, NADA…other than just exisintg!

Hence the ONLY true statements about worthiness are:

“I am enough because I exist”
“I am worthy of the life I say I want BECAUSE I EXIST”
“I am worthy of a happy, healthy, prosperous, loving life BECAUSE I EXIST’

PERIOD!!!!

We are all a product, to some degree or other, of a lineage where you had to do or be something in order to be worthy of receiving something nice. We know our parents and grandparents meant well and loved us (in their own way), but they too were ‘programmed’ by their parents etc. etc. So we have generations of erroneous beliefs to change. The good news is that you can change generations of beliefs in a matter of days- YAY!

Once you have agreed to do something or get something for your inner child make sure you DO SO. Many children were temporarily pacified by being promised things that never materialized- goodbye trust and hello depression! This is a very valuable exercise in building inner trust and healthy excitement.

Be good to yourself! By the universal law of attraction, if you respect yourself and treat yourself well, your outside reality HAS to follow suit in time- IT IS LAW!

You cannot attract a vibration that does not exist in you or conversely you can only attract a vibration that meets the same one in you (usually a belief).
